5-stage Skin Rescue by Dermalogica

Our sensitive-skinned reviewer loved testing Dermalogica’s 5-stage skin rescue set, described by the manufacturer as ‘a lifeboat for the skin’.

Part one of the set was one of Dermalogica’s own favourite products, the Daily Microfoliant, which employs enzymes to create a technically advanced, non-abrasive exfoliator to rival anything else on the market.

Initially a little worried that the ultra-fine powder, which transforms into a creamy paste when moistened seemed, a little “chemically”, the reviewer was soon won over by the results, saying: “It felt a lot less harsh than a lot of other exfoliators,” and that her skin felt “smooth and fresh” after use, “not at all dry” and with a completely “flake-free glow”.

The moisture binding multi-active Toner with extract of lavendar, balm mint and arnica also got the thumbs up for being: “totally non-irritating and nicely scented and it doesn’t leave a sticky residue.” Somewhat less successful was the oil-free hydrating masque, which though “soothing”, was not thought by the reviewer to be moisturising enough for extra-dry skin. It was, however, “easily absorbed and quite cooling” for sun-baked skin.

Used in conjunction with part 4 of the set, the Skin Hydrating Booster, which delivers an intense dose of moisture to super-parched patches of skin, the masque comes into its own a bit more. The eye cream, meanwhile, felt ”creamy but light” and seemed to add a protective layer to this delicate area of skin, leaving it feeling soft and flexible.

The system overall, said the reviewer, is a “pleasure to use and doesn’t leave the skin feeling overloaded with product, but more evenly toned, smooth and radiant. Sensitive skin felt more resilient.”

What a great regime. I don’t personally use Dermalogica but I have many friends who do and swear by it. When it comes to the Daily Microfoliant it seems to be the must have for everyone who has ever used it. Which makes me think that its about time I gave it a try. I found all the Dermalogica products you mentioned here: http://www.dermstore.com/profile_Dermalogica_100083.htm . Any thoughts on someplace better to buy or should I just go for it? Thanks again for the post, I look forward to the next ones!!! Cheers.
