Look behind you!

It’s a classic!  You get one of your regular clients in for a ‘Basic Bikini Wax’ and she’s all excited about her upcoming holiday.   She’s booked in for a lower legs, brows, under arms and her bikini, but she’s overlooked a small matter………. Her backside!

Yeah, yeah, I know we don’t like to even think about these things but it’s a fact.  Woman often have growing on their buttocks and that weird patch of almost ‘pubic like’ hair that grows on the back of the thighs, and it needs to be gone!  They don’t know it’s there and it’s our duty to sisterhood to inform them.

Picture this!   She glides out of the pool, wiggling her booty so that the guy getting out behind her thinks she looks HOT!   From the front she does look hot.   However, what she doesn’t realise is that from the back she looks like an extra from the set of Planet of The Apes.

To be fair, this lady has spent so many years titivating just the front of her body that it’s never occurred to her to see what lurks behind.  Most women don’t even know they have a hairy bum and who is going to be brave enough to tell her?  Nobody that’s who!

So my fellow beauty professionals…….it’s down to us.  But how do we break the news?  Our job is to make our clients feel as though they are no different to any other woman and to make them feel good about themselves.  So how about this,  “Hey Sue, I’m doing a ‘Summertime Special’ today on the High Leg Bikini for just an extra £5.   It’s a must have for the beach as it removes any darker hair from your buttocks and back of your thighs, which we all have but we just can’t see ourselves.  That way you’ll be able to swim, bend over and walk around totally confident knowing that you don’t have any stray hairs showing’.

The plus side to this is that they look amazing and they leave feeling great about themselves and they will probably never go back to having a Basic Bikini again.

Until next time, RIP! RIP! RIP!

I’ve just been recommended this blog by one of my colleagues and it’s great. Kim, thank you so much for your advice on waxing and also how to overcome a sensitive issue that is often faced in salons. I look forward to reading your next installment!

I’ve just discovered the Beauty Connection blog. I’m starting out and have opened my own business and am really interested in introducing waxing in my salon. Kim, do you do any seminars or teaching? If so, I’d love to attend.
