ICE’s Venables Speaks out at Civils

Jean Venables, the ICE’s newly appointed and first woman president, spoke out on a number of key national issues affecting future infrastructure development in this country while at Civils today. Interesting stuff for civil engineers and a wider public. She’s against a third runway at Heathrow and spoke in favour of high speed rail. We should hear more on that subject in tomorrow’s Civils Debate at 12.15pm with Dr Tim Leunig of the LSE, writer Christian Wolmar and Jim Steer, Founder of pro-rail lobby Greengauge 21.

Here is a link to Venables being interviewed by New Civil EngineerĀ at Civils.
