Velux has appointed HTA to design two semi detached homes in Kettering as part of its Model Home 2020 project which has already completed two homes in Denmark and has one on site in Austria. Both the Danish and Austrian projects were a result of architectural competitions, but according to Kevin Brennan, head of sustainability for Velux, the company opted against a competition in the UK due to the urgency of the low carbon agenda and the desire to engage in policy dialogue in advance of next year’s general election. Velux is currently looking for a site near its Kettering sales office and hopes to complete the project in the second quarter of 2010.
