More green walls from ADP

It’s good to see another green wall project in a public building after the recent failure of the living wall at Paradise Park in Islington, London.

ADP has just completed the Lancaster Building, a sixth form centre for 250 students at Uxbridge High School. The building has a BREEAM Very Good rating and a predicted annual CO2 emissions rating of 10.5kg C02/m2 and sports two green walls.  The size (each about 8m2), location, and structural support of the walls was designed by ADP, who also coordinated the pipe locations.  Sky Garden installed the walls and specified the plants - primarily sedum.

Other sustainable features of the project include PVs, grey and rainwater recycling and a BMS display at reception so that students can monitor the building’s performance.

This is one to watch.
