Call for green buildings in the northwest
Northwest Business Environment Awards is calling for entries - newbuild or refurb - for its Built Environment Award 2010. The deadline for submission is May 14th.
Buildings will be judged in two categories, projects over £1 million and those under £1 million. The jury includes Roger Burton, Chair of RIBA North West, and winners will be announced in October 2010.
Submissions can be made by post or email.
Cass Associates’ Liverpool sailing club won the 2009 award for a project costing less than one million pounds.
Last year’s over £1 million award was won by Tesco’s Cheetham Hill store, which included a sustainable timber frame and a combined heat and power plant. Architects BDP were the runner-up with their new Manchester office which received a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating.
