London to host C40 Waste Workshop next week

Next week London will host a three day workshop where respresentatives from cities including San Francisio, Tokyo, Sydney, Moscow, and Mexico City will discuss how to reduce waste to landfill. The purpose of the workshop, hosted by the C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group (of which Boris Johnson is honorary deputy chair), is to share knowledge about effective ways to reduce rubbish, increase recycling and exploit new technologies in handling waste.

London will present its waste management plan, including plans for extracting energy from waste. London’s draft waste strategy can be viewed here.
