Shanghai Expo - Amazing photos
Boston.com has posted some spectacular images of the preparations for the Shanghai Expo which runs from May to October 2010. I’ve pulled out three which feature green design below but it’s worth viewing the full set here.
Six trumpet-shaped ‘Sunny Valleys’ by Stuttgart-based SBA Architects will define the main pedestrian axis of the Expo. The trumpets direct sunlight into the galleries below and catch rainfall to water the exhibition’s green areas.
The Theme Pavilion of the Shanghai World Expo 2010 has a roof covered in solar panels.
Also included are some beautiful images of Thomas Heatherwick’s British Pavilion, the ‘Seed Cathedral’.
