Roots Architecture at WOMAD
The annual WOMAD world music festival in Charlton Park, Wiltshire will this year feature ‘Roots Architecture’, a workshop open to anyone interested in learning traditional construction techniques from across the world. The four-day event will take place between 22nd-25th of this month and culminate in the design and construction of four stages to host performances.
With advice from leading timber craftsman Charley Brentnall, Melissa Kinnear of Architectures Sans Frontières, TYIN Tegnestue (above) and ‘Bamboo’ Jack Everett, there will be no shortage of expertise. Aiming to reflect the diversity of the music performed, Roots Architecture takes inspiration from all corners of the globe, understood through much experience of close collaboration with local communities.
A collaboration between Fourth Door and tangentfield, the non-profit event costs £235 which includes the workshop, lunches and full festival admission.
Tickets can be purchased here.

hello; minor correction - its the 22nd - 25th; thursday to sunday
And yes; its not really raining; it’s festival season; and time to get your hands [not just your ears] dirty: music, talks, building….bamboo, wood, scrap…promises to be a memorable event.
Apologies for the mistake and many thanks for noticing it. Has been corrected accordingly. Hope it all goes well this weekend!
