AJ and Taschen have joined forces to offer readers 5 copies of Green Architecture NOW!
Launching our season of giveaways, this is the first of Footprint’s book offers running through the summer. Enter now to win books for holiday reading and eco-inspiration.
Green Architecture NOW! features over 400 glossy pages of sustainable projects from all corners of the globe. From a small beach house in New Zealand to 360km² of suburban Parisian redevelopment, the book covers a vast array of scales and approaches. Innovative technologies and traditional construction techniques are both represented across many different building typologies. The book showcases the influence and scope of sustainability, now as varied as architectural practice itself. As you flick between an adobe Alabama house by Rural Studio and the futuristic forms of Vincent Callebaut’s chic Parisian Café, it is clear that these are exciting times for green architecture, with more diversity than ever before.
Can a petrol station qualify as green architecture? We leave this question to you. There are nonetheless plenty of great projects featured, such as Patrick Blanc’s wonderfully luscious Vertical Garden at Madrid’s CaixiaForum and Shigeru Ban’s cardboard Papertainer Museum in Seoul. Despite a distinct lack of British representation (surprisingly there are no featured projects in the UK), this is a visually attractive book and great to own for design inspiration.
