The RIBA no longer has a special category for sustainability as part of the annual awards. It believes, rightly, that all buildings worthy of an award should meet this criteria. However, some do so more than others.

I have written repeatedly in the AJ about CarbonBuzz, the RIBA/CIBSE online platform for energy monitoring of buildings which enables architects and engineers to compare new projects against established benchmarks for operational energy use.
