Keep Your RWM Visit Green!
Focus Your Energy at RWM!
If you look at the seminar programmes or the exhibitor listings for RWM you will see how central energy has become in the issue of how we deal with our waste. Today that cross over was further cemented with the announcement that Emap (which owns RWM) has just purchased The Energy Event which will run [...]
Will Recycling Drive A New Agrarian Revolution?
Although the agricultural industry only employs 1.3% of the UK population it produces around 10% of our country’s annual industrial and commercial waste, which is why recycling and effective waste management policies are so important to the sector.
Visitors to this year’s RWM will be able to see plenty of recycling innovations for [...]
The colour of the coalition
A new ‘coalition agreement’ and a fresh programme of measures to push the UK towards a low-carbon economy; but many questions still remain over the detail. As MRW points out, Chris Huhne, newly appointed Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change, is not a supporter of incineration, while Caroline Spelman, Secretary of State for [...]
Food Waste on the Menu at RWM
Food waste in the UK is around 18 - 20 million tonnes a year according to WRAP. Once in landfill food breaks down and can produce methane - a greenhouse gas 25 times more powerful than CO2. It also contaminates everything it comes into contact with rendering it non-recyclable.
As well as meeting new suppliers who can reduce your waste, save you money and give you a competitive edge, a visit to RWM will give you free access to legislative advice and great ideas from other businesses presenting case studies in the free seminar sessions.

Anaerobic Digestion:Where there’s Muck there’s Gold?
What is RWM about? Yes it’s about Recycling and Waste Management! But this is a marketplace too. This is about business driving our green agenda forward. Which brings me to anaerobic digestion. Definitely a buzzword at RWM 2009. I popped along to an interesting, very compelling, seminar given by Jakovos Theodoridis of Bekon. He was [...]
Sainsbury’s Tackling Organic Waste with PDM
I thought some of yesterday’s seminars were busy, but such was in the interest in Powering the Future through Food that they were standing in the aisles to hear this one. Philip Simpson, Commercial Driector of PDM group and Dave Timson of Sainsbury’s took us through what the retailer is doing to achieve its target [...]
Green Actions Speak Louder than Words
This year’s action-packed RWM will give visitors a close-up view of recycling as it happens…
