The £18.00 engagement ring

At first glance Marks & Spencer’s £18.00 engagement and wedding ring set looks sort of alright, though the logo in lieu of hallmark seems pretty dodgy, I have to say. If only I didn’t know the price tag it might seem acceptable….Is it snobbish to expect one’s fiance to spend a bit more (actually, a LOT more) than £18 on the gift of your life, or is it fair enough to expect him to break the bank for at least this one special occasion?!
